Middle School
Shu Ren Middle School provides a boutique educational experience for students with academic rigor, driven by inquiry-based transdisciplinary learning, and utilizes best practices in learning impact and forward-thinking technology practices. Rooted in authentic experiences, conventional subject disciplines serve as a lens through which big ideas are explored.
Our middle school program began this school year with Grade 6, providing a transdisciplinary approach to all academic subjects, complemented by daily Mandarin language immersion, along with weekly Music, Art, and Physical Education classes for a holistic learning experience. After-school enrichment activities and an expanding range of co-curriculars extend learning beyond the school day. By Grade 8, students will participate in a capstone trip that further enriches their educational journey.
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, Shu Ren will introduce the Common Ground Collaborative (CGC) as part of our next phase in the growth of our Middle School. Kevin Bartlett, one of the founders of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), has been influential in shaping the CGC. The CGC is an innovative curriculum approach known for its inquiry-based learning methods. The curriculum will focus on developing each student's gifted qualities within a safe and supportive learning community that nurtures the growth of their academic, social, and executive function skills.
Our dedication to nurturing globally aware critical thinkers and lifelong learners by tailoring education to meet the unique needs of each student is a hallmark for Shu Ren Middle School. Our educators recognize the untapped potential within each student, and this creates a secure learning environment where challenges are seen as opportunities for growth, cultivating a strong sense of responsibility and leadership skills.
Shu Ren Middle School will be unparalleled in preparing students to enter the High School that best fits them as confident, skilled, talented, passionate, and compassionate individuals.
Join us for a series of information sessions to keep you informed and prepared for this new educational journey. These sessions will provide valuable insights into what students can expect, how the CGC will be implemented, and how parents can support their children's learning within this framework.
