Information Technology
At Shu Ren International School, we take pride in preparing our students to navigate a complex international world with extensive communication, academics, and technology lessons. For elementary students, we have a 1 to 1 iPad/Chrome/MacBook program where students learn important coding and computer skills via the IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum model.
Our library is the home of a fantastic multilingual collection of online and print resources and our bilingual library specialist. Our library is split into three sections: PYP Lower (grades K-3), PYP Upper (grades 3-6), and MYP (grades 5-8). The library adds new books to the collection every month and coordinates book displays corresponding to school-wide monthly events and themes. Our students can access our online catalog to search for and check out books to use within and outside school. Our literary collection consists of materials in Mandarin, Spanish, and English, including but not limited to graphic novels, picture books, non-fiction, level readers, dictionaries and thesauri, maps, and professional literature for teachers and staff.
Other resources include DVDs, CDs/audiobooks, Razz Kids, Chinese Reader, and Chairman’s Bao (for middle school students). The library itself is one of our major centers of learning. It is equipped with WiFi, plush bean bag chairs, a reading lounge with a couch and pillows, reading buddies (in the form of stuffed animals), study desks for 8 older and 4 younger students, and standard electrical and USB outlets. As an international, multilingual, and multicultural school, we are excited to share our wealth of information and educational resources with our growing community at Shu Ren.
